9-Day Well Balanced Botswana Northern Highlights
From: USD $2,450.00
Begin your tour with us as your safari dreams start to become a reality. You'll join us for a briefing on the fantastic journey we have planned together as we introduce you to your friendly and knowledgeable guide. With these enjoyable formalities over, it's time to get going!
Wasting no time, we head straight to Gweta where you will spend the next 2 days exploring Makgadikgadi.
Watch as the sun sets out over the eternal horizon of the salt pans, or watch lions hunt along the shore of the often-dry Boteti River. It's all possible in Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, an excellent park that also hosts an annual zebra migration, has meerkats and brown hyenas, and generally sees fewer visitors than most other Botswana parks.
Going on an evening walk is one of the highlights of any safari. At 5pm you'll be taken by the knowledgeable resident guide on a short walk the Baobabs. You will learn about the history of the area, the flora and beliefs & cultures of the local tribes.
We continue Makgadikgadi Pans National Park Areas and enjoy the unique landscapes and wildlife.
Imagine being out in the soft, early morning light, wrapped in a blanket, just as the animals emerge from their night’s rest or from the shadows of their nighttime adventures. The world feels fresh and new on an early morning game drive, the sun has yet to beat down upon the earth, and it may end up being your favorite time to be out on safari.
Is an important small village just outside the Salt Pans along the A3 Road between Maun and Francistown. It serves as something of a gateway for Makgadikgadi Pans from the eastern side.
Planet Baobab is located here. On this day we will do a short walk around the village.
Morning Game Drive in Moremi Game Reserve The wake-up call today is at the latest 06:00 Hrs and you will drive out to make the most of the day with an early morning game and then drive towards the village of Khwai through the Moremi Game Reserve. Put on some warm clothes and enjoy an early morning game drive. This is the perfect time to experience the wildlife and the landscapes they inhabit. The light is soft and warm – perfect for
photography – and most animals are out and about, and active. If you’re not an early riser, you’ll definitely want to make an exception here.
The Journey to Khwai Village and Wildlife Concession After breakfast, we break camp and head to Khwai. Depending on the road conditions and animal sightings, this journey will take around 3 hours (45km)
You'll be experiencing some of the Okavango Delta's best wildlife-viewing conditions in Khwai Concession, which is a part of Moremi Game Reserve. The wildlife here is easy to see, with plenty of open country to go with the light
woodlands and vegetation along the riverbank. Look especially for giraffes, zebras, elephants, lions and leopards.
We think you'll fall in love with the Okavango Delta when you explore with us in a mokoro (dugout canoe). The mokoro is a way of life for the local inhabitants out here in this land without roads. You might see wildlife, including elephants, hippos, crocs, and plenty of birds. But the real highlight is experiencing the Delta at a wonderfully slow pace.
